This study focuses on helping young autistic children with insomnia, which means having trouble falling asleep or staying asleep. The study tests two methods: Sleep Parent Treatment (SPT) and Sleep Parent Education (SPE) over 10 weeks. Kids aged 3 to 7 years who have autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and insomnia can join. They will be randomly placed in either SPT or SPE. The main goal is to see which method helps the children sleep better, using a measure called PAIRS, which parents will rate.
To join, kids must not have other serious health issues or sleep disorders like sleep apnea. Their parents must speak English because the study materials are in English. This research might improve sleep for kids and lessen stress for parents.
- Study lasts 10 weeks with check-ins at the start, middle, and end.
- Children will receive either SPT or SPE treatment.
- Parents need to rate their child's sleep using the PAIRS measure.
