Study of Efficacy and Safety of Iptacopan in Participants With IC-MPGN

Assessing Iptacopan's effectiveness and safety for IC-MPGN patients.

Phase 3

This study looks at how well and how safely a new drug, iptacopan, works for people with idiopathic immune complex mediated membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis (IC-MPGN). IC-MPGN is a type of kidney problem that can cause too much protein in the urine and can harm the kidneys over time. The study compares iptacopan to a placebo (a fake treatment) given along with usual care. It checks if iptacopan helps reduce protein in urine and improves kidney function, while also seeing how it affects tiredness in patients. The study includes people aged 12 and older and lasts for several weeks. After treatment, participants can choose to stop or continue in another longer study.

  • Participants need to visit the study center for regular check-ups.
  • Mandatory vaccinations are required before starting treatment.
  • Participants must not have certain infections or have had organ transplants.
