Phase 2

This study is exploring how safe and effective a medication called KAI-9531 is for people who are obese but do not have diabetes. Participants will receive a shot just under the skin once a week. Some will get the actual medicine, and others will get a placebo, which looks like the medicine but doesn’t have any active ingredients. The main goal is to see if there is a change in body weight.

**Key Points:**

  • The study involves weekly visits for injections.
  • Participants must have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 35 or higher and not have diabetes.
  • People with certain medical conditions or who are on specific medications cannot participate.

**BMI** means Body Mass Index, a measure of body fat based on height and weight. **Diabetes** is a condition where the body cannot manage blood sugar levels properly. **Placebo** is a harmless substance given to some patients in a study to see how it compares with the actual drug being tested. **Subcutaneous (SC) injection** means an injection given under the skin.
