Phase 3

This study explores if the medicine suvorexant can help people with opioid use disorder (OUD) sleep better. OUD is when someone has problems with opioid drugs like painkillers. Many people with OUD have difficulty sleeping. Researchers want to see if suvorexant can help them fall asleep and stay asleep longer than a placebo, which looks like real medicine but isn’t. They also want to check if suvorexant is safe and well-tolerated.

  • The study involves taking the medicine and comparing it to a placebo.
  • Participants need to have a stable sleep schedule and no opioid use for at least 4 weeks before starting.
  • People with certain psychiatric or sleep disorders, or other medical conditions, cannot join.

If you have OUD and trouble sleeping, ask your doctor if this study might be suitable for you. The study checks the safety of suvorexant and its effect on sleep. Participants should be ready to follow a regular sleep schedule and be on a stable treatment for OUD.
