This study is examining how a new drug, tebapivat, affects people with Sickle Cell Disease (SCD). SCD is a condition where red blood cells, which carry oxygen in our body, become misshaped and can cause pain and other problems. Anemia is when you don't have enough healthy red blood cells. This study will compare tebapivat to a placebo (a pill with no active medicine) to see if it helps with anemia. The study will also see how different doses of tebapivat work. To join, you need to have SCD, and your hemoglobin (a protein in red blood cells) levels should be between 5.5 - 10.5 grams per deciliter. You cannot join if you have regular blood transfusions, more than 10 pain crises in the past year, or if you've had certain treatments or medicines recently.
- Study involves taking tebapivat or a placebo.
- You need to have stable health conditions and medicine doses before starting.
- Certain medical treatments or conditions may prevent participation.
