This study is about improving germline genetic testing for patients with certain cancers - specifically, breast, pancreatic, and colorectal cancers. Germline testing checks for inherited gene changes that may increase cancer risk. This project aims to help cancer doctors and their teams order these tests more often for patients who need them. The study will use different strategies, like training doctors, giving feedback, and improving computer systems, over three 6-month periods. After these periods, the study will check if testing rates stay high without extra help.
- Study involves 3 phases: each 6 months long, plus a maintenance phase.
- Focuses on oncology care teams, not individual patients.
- Uses education and tech improvements to boost testing.
Doctors and team members caring for adults with the specified cancers can join. The study will see if these strategies help more patients get the testing they need and if they can keep using these tests over time. This is important because recognizing inherited cancer risks can guide treatments and help family members too.
