Phase N/A

This study looks at how physical activity might help older adults having surgery for lung cancer. It compares two ways of doing exercise: telephone-based coaching and self-monitoring. In the coaching group, participants get 5 phone calls, each lasting 20-50 minutes, to help them with exercise and set goals. They also wear a device to track their activity. In the self-monitoring group, participants receive written exercise tips and also wear an activity tracker.

**Key Points**:

  • The study lasts up to 180 days with follow-ups.
  • Participants and their caregivers will be involved in the exercise plan.
  • Participants may get support through phone calls or written materials.

Participants must be 65 or older, have lung cancer, and be able to understand English or Spanish. They also need to agree to wear an activity tracker and participate in the exercise plan. Some people may not be able to join if they can't follow the study rules or if their surgery is scheduled too soon.
