The HEALEY ALS Platform Trial is a research study to find safe and effective treatments for ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. ALS is a condition that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, leading to muscle weakness and loss of muscle control.
In this study, various new treatments are being tested. Each treatment is called a "regimen," and includes both the real drug and a placebo (a substance with no active ingredient). Participants have an equal chance of receiving either the study drug or placebo, and will not know which one they are getting. As new treatments are available, they will be added to the trial.
- The trial involves multiple visits for tests and assessments.
- Participants must be at least 18 years old with ALS diagnosis.
- Participants may receive either the study drug or a placebo.
Participants should not have certain other health conditions and must be able to swallow pills and liquids. Women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, as well as men and women not using birth control, cannot participate. Please consult with your doctor before joining the study.
