This study is designed to test a new medicine, GSK4532990, for adults aged 18 to 70 who have liver disease caused by alcohol use. The study will look at both the safety (is it safe?) and efficacy (does it work?) of the medicine compared to a placebo, which is a pill that doesn't have any active medicine in it. Participants must be able to give consent and follow study rules. They need a history of drinking alcohol that could lead to liver disease, and women must meet additional criteria. People cannot join if they have certain health issues like organ failure, uncontrolled blood pressure, or recent heart problems. They also can't join if they had a liver-related event within the last 8 weeks.
