Phase 3

Dry Eye Disease (DED) is when eyes don't have enough moisture, causing discomfort. The study tests a new eye drop, ABBV-444, against Refresh Optive UD for 90 days to see which works better and is safer. About 250 adults with DED will participate at 20 locations across the U.S. Participants will first use REFRESH PLUS® drops for 7 days. Then, they'll be randomly assigned to use ABBV-444 or REFRESH OPTIVE® for 90 days. There are multiple study visits, and participants will be checked through medical exams and questions.

  • Study lasts for 90 days with several visits to the study site.
  • Participants must not wear contact lenses during the study.
  • Participants should not have uncontrolled health issues like diabetes or lupus.
