This study is looking at a new medicine called eloralintide to help people with type 2 diabetes who are also overweight or have obesity. Type 2 diabetes is a condition where the body doesn't use insulin properly, causing high blood sugar. Eloralintide is compared to a placebo (a fake medicine with no active drug) to see if it can help reduce body weight safely. The study will last about 75 weeks, which is roughly a year and a half.
- Participants need to visit the study site multiple times over 75 weeks.
- They must have type 2 diabetes and have a BMI (Body Mass Index) of 27 or higher.
- This study has certain risks, such as unknown side effects of eloralintide.
To join, you need to be on stable diabetes treatment and have a stable weight for 90 days before starting. You cannot join if you've had certain heart problems recently, have type 1 diabetes, or have recently taken certain diabetes or weight loss medications.
