Low back pain can be really painful and make it hard to do everyday activities. The ASTRAL Study is checking how well a special treatment called Lumbar Radiofrequency Ablation (LRFA) works for people with chronic low back pain. This study will compare three groups: two groups with different LRFA methods and one group with a pretend treatment. LRFA is a procedure that uses heat to stop nerve pain signals. It's important to know this study is looking at which method works best and if there's a real benefit over not using LRFA.
- The study lasts for 12 months, and you might need to visit the clinic a few times.
- There are no new MRIs or evaluations for cognitive issues as part of the study.
- You must be willing to follow all study steps and sign a consent form.
To join, you must be 18 or older, have had low back pain for 3+ months, and tried other treatments like physical therapy. You can't join if your pain is mainly due to certain spine problems or if you've had LRFA before. Make sure you're available for the whole study duration and can understand and speak English.
