This study aims to test PF614, a new type of pain medicine, on people having a tummy tuck surgery called an abdominoplasty. PF614 is a special kind of painkiller that slowly releases oxycodone, a medicine that helps with pain, into the body. Participants will take this medicine before and after their surgery to see if it works better than a placebo, which is a pill with no medicine in it.
Participants will stay in a clinic for 5 days after surgery to be monitored and will need to keep a diary about their pain for a few extra days at home. They will rate their pain on a scale from 0 to 10 and report any side effects. Blood samples will be collected to check how the medicine is working in their bodies. Participants must be between 18 and 75 years old, speak English or Spanish, and be able to follow study instructions.
- Study lasts about 5 days in a clinic with some follow-up at home.
- Participants will take medicine and rate their pain regularly.
- Potential side effects and safety are closely monitored.
