This study is testing a new medicine called VRB-101 to help people lose weight. People who join will either take this medicine or a fake pill (called a placebo) to compare results. The study lasts for about 28 weeks, which includes checking if you qualify, taking the medicine, and making sure you're safe after the study ends.

To join, you need to have a certain body mass index (BMI), which is a way to measure if you are overweight or obese. You also need to have a health problem related to your weight. You can't join if you have diabetes, which is a disease that affects how your body uses sugar.

If you're a woman who can have babies, you must not be pregnant and agree to use birth control during the study.

  • The study lasts for a total of 28 weeks.
  • There are 5 groups taking the medicine and 1 group taking the placebo.
