Phase 2
Vonoprazan is a medication being studied to see if it helps adults with EoE, which stands for *eosinophilic esophagitis*. EoE is a condition where a type of white blood cell (eosinophil) builds up in the esophagus causing swallowing problems. This study will compare vonoprazan to a placebo, which is a pill that doesn't contain any medicine, over 12 weeks to see how well it works. Participants must be 18 or older and have a specific level of eosinophils in their esophagus. They should not have certain other health conditions like Crohn's disease or use certain medications before the study. Key Points:
  • The study lasts up to 24 weeks with regular check-ups to monitor progress.
  • Participants must not change their diet and should not be using certain medications before and during the study.
  • There is a need for compliance with the study protocol, including diary entries and multiple visits.
Participants will need to have a stable lifestyle and agree to certain conditions to be part of this study. It aims to find a better treatment option for those suffering from EoE.
