The SYNERGY-OUTCOMES study is checking if **retatrutide** and **tirzepatide** can help people with a liver condition called MASLD, which stands for Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease. MASLD can lead to serious liver problems. The study will test these medicines against a placebo, which is a harmless pill that doesn't do anything, to see if they work.
About 4,500 adults will join and the study will last around 4 years (or 224 weeks). Participants will visit the clinic 25 to 30 times during the study to check their health and liver function. After the main study, there is an optional 2-year extension where everyone gets the real medicine.
Key Points:
- The study lasts about 224 weeks with 25 to 30 clinic visits.
- An optional 2-year extension study offers real treatment to all.
- This study involves monitoring liver health closely.
