Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD) makes people very nervous in social settings. This study tests a new medicine, VQW-765, to see if it helps. A double-blind, placebo-controlled study means neither doctors nor patients know who gets the real medicine or a placebo (a fake pill). About 500 adults with SAD will join. Some get VQW-765, others get placebo, and then they do a stress test. After 1-2 weeks, safety is checked remotely.
Eligibility: You can join if you’re 18-65, have SAD, and score high on anxiety tests. You can’t join if you’ve tried suicide in the past 2 years, have certain mental health issues, substance abuse problems, or are pregnant.
- **Duration:** One visit for medicine and test, plus a follow-up after 1-2 weeks.
- **Compensation:** Not mentioned in the details provided.
- **Risks:** Includes possible side effects and stress from the test.
