Study Summary: This study looks at how messages about very low nicotine cigarettes (VLNCs) might change smoking habits and thoughts. Nicotine is a chemical in cigarettes that can make people addicted. The research will compare two groups of smokers: one group will get VLNCs with special messages, and the other will get VLNCs without messages.
- Participation: The study lasts about 5 weeks, with one starting week and four more weeks of visits.
- Visits & Tasks: Participants will have weekly visits to fill out surveys and give breath samples. They'll also complete quick daily surveys via text.
- Eligibility: Participants must be at least 21, speak English, and be willing to try research cigarettes.
This study will help understand if messages about reduced nicotine can encourage people to smoke less. Participants will either see messages about VLNCs or neutral messages, like ads about bottled water.
