Atrophic acne scars are flat or indented scars that happen after acne heals. These scars can make people feel bad about themselves. ELAPR002f injectable gel is a new treatment being tested to help fill in these scars. In this study, some people will get the gel, while others might get a saltwater (saline) solution. About 395 adults with moderate to severe scars will participate at 25 sites in the US.
Participants will have 3 treatments over 2 months and be followed for up to 12 more months. During the study, they will visit the clinic regularly for check-ups, blood tests, and to see if there are any side effects.
- The study lasts about 14 months in total.
- Participants must visit the clinic regularly for treatments and check-ups.
- There might be more effort needed than usual acne scar care.
To join, you need to be in good health and want to improve your scars. You should have moderate to severe scars, but not too many ice pick scars (deep, narrow scars). Some conditions, like ongoing facial acne or skin infections, can prevent you from joining.
