SYNERGY-AI: Artificial Intelligence Based Precision Oncology Clinical Trial Matching and Registry

SYNERGY-AI: AI helps match patients to precision oncology trials.

Phase N/A

The SYNERGY-AI study is looking at how well a special computer program, called Artificial Intelligence (AI), can help cancer patients find clinical trials. Clinical trials are research studies that test new treatments to see if they are safe and effective. The program works by matching patients with the trials that might be best for them. Patients with advanced cancer can join this study, and it helps doctors make better treatment choices by providing a report from the AI system. This study doesn’t involve any specific treatment changes, and everything is up to the patient and their doctor.

  • The study lasts around 36 months, with 24 months for enrollment and 12 months for data collection.
  • It is non-interventional, meaning no extra tests are required beyond regular care.
  • It aims to enroll at least 50,000 participants worldwide.

To join, patients must have certain types of cancer and specific cancer-related markers, which are like unique fingerprints of the cancer, identified through tests. They also need their doctor's decision to consider clinical trials. Patients can't join if they have poor performance status (ECOG PS > 2), poor organ function, or are in hospice care.

Why should I take part in a clinical trial?

Participating in a clinical trial provides early access to potentially effective treatments and directly contributes to the healthcare advancements that benefit us all.

How long does a clinical trial take place?

The duration of clinical trials varies. Some trials last weeks, some years, depending on the phase and intention of the trial.

Do I get compensated for taking part in clinical trials?

Compensation varies per trial. Some offer payment or reimbursement for time and travel, while others may not.

How safe are clinical trials?
