Phase N/A

Constipation is a common problem that affects many Americans. One cause can be pelvic floor dyssynergia, where muscles don't work together properly during bowel movements. The Fecobionics device is a new tool that helps doctors understand how the muscles in the anus and rectum work. It is a small, balloon-like device that is placed in the rectum to record data as it is expelled. This study aims to see how effective biofeedback therapy is for people with dyssynergia, using information collected by Fecobionics. Biofeedback therapy is a treatment that helps people learn how to control their muscles better.

  • The study lasts for the duration of biofeedback therapy sessions.
  • Participants need to be between 21-75 years old and already enrolled in a biofeedback therapy program at certain hospitals.
  • Some risks include discomfort during device insertion and data collection.
