This study is comparing two drugs, dotinurad and allopurinol, to see which is better at lowering uric acid in the blood in people with a condition called tophaceous gout. Gout is a type of arthritis caused by too much uric acid in the blood, which can form painful lumps called tophi in joints. The study lasts for 24 weeks.
- Participation Length: The study will last for about 6 months.
- Visits Needed: Participants must attend several visits for screening and testing during the study.
- Eligibility: Must be 18-75 years old with gout diagnosis, among other health criteria.
To join, you must have at least one tophus and a certain level of uric acid. Women must have a negative pregnancy test, and all participants must agree to use birth control. You cannot join if you have recent kidney stones, certain cancers, or drug allergies, among other conditions.
