This study is about an online program called OurRelationship, designed to help couples improve their relationship when one or both partners are recovering from substance misuse. Substance misuse means using drugs or alcohol in a harmful way. The program takes about 8-10 hours over 5-8 weeks and includes five short calls with a coach. Couples will fill out surveys before and after the program, earning up to $200 ($100 each). This program uses a method called Integrative Behavioral Couple Therapy (IBCT), which has been effective in helping relationships.

  • Time Commitment: Approximately 8-10 hours over 5-8 weeks.
  • Compensation: $200 per couple.
  • Eligibility: Couples must be in a romantic relationship for over 6 months, both age 18+, and one or both partners in recovery from substance misuse.

To join, couples need good internet and should not have severe domestic violence issues or plan to end their relationship. The program is flexible, with partners doing most activities separately and then coming together for key discussions. The goal is to strengthen their bond and improve how they function day-to-day.
