Guardians Receiving Information Through Navigators (GRIN) is a study to help community health workers (CHWs) learn better ways to support dental health for high-risk youth. This study will use online lessons with text, videos, and computer avatars (AI simulations) to teach CHWs. The study is divided into two groups: an experimental group (which gets the GRIN course) and a control group (which gets information from the American Dental Association website). CHWs will do surveys before, right after, and three months after the lessons to see what they learned.
- The study will include up to 320 CHWs nationwide, divided equally between the experimental and control groups.
- Participants will be randomly assigned to one of the groups after completing a consent form.
- Participation is voluntary, and all personal information is kept private and secure.
To join, you must be a CHW at least 18 years old, with at least six months of field experience, and have internet access. The study aims to see if the GRIN course improves CHW knowledge and skills in helping high-risk youth with dental health.
