This study is for kids aged 12 to 17 with severe alopecia areata, a condition causing hair loss. We're testing a drug called deuruxolitinib to see if it helps grow hair back safely. At first, participants will get either the drug or a placebo (a fake treatment) for 24 weeks without knowing which one they receive. After that, everyone gets the real drug for 52 weeks.
Key Points:
- The study lasts a total of 76 weeks.
- Participants must visit the study site regularly.
- Make sure you're okay with not knowing if you're getting the real drug or placebo at first.
To join, you should have had alopecia areata for 6 months to 10 years and have lost at least half of your hair on your scalp. You shouldn't have other scalp problems or be using other hair treatments before starting. Pregnant or nursing girls can't join. The researchers will decide if the study is safe for you based on your health.
