Phase N/A

The Proton and Photon Consortium Registry (PPCR) is a study to gather information about children treated with radiation therapy for cancer. There are two main types of radiation: Proton Beam Radiation Therapy (PBRT), which uses protons, and photon therapy, which uses x-rays. PBRT is believed to have fewer long-term side effects, but more data is needed to prove this. The study collects data like age, treatments received, and side effects. This helps doctors understand the benefits and make better treatment decisions. Your treatment, surgeries, and any new medical issues will be tracked annually by a study coordinator.

  • The study tracks your health for life, with annual check-ins.
  • Children under 22 who have radiation therapy can join.
  • Your medical data may be shared with researchers and stored securely.

The study doesn’t change the treatment you receive. If you join, researchers will contact you yearly to see how you're doing. This helps them learn more about long-term effects of proton radiation therapy. If you have other questions, your doctor can provide more information.
