**Study Summary:** This study is called "VANQUISH 2" and it tests a medicine called VK2735. The study is for adults with Type 2 Diabetes who are overweight or obese. **Type 2 Diabetes** is a condition where your body doesn't use insulin properly. **Obese or overweight** means having extra body fat. The study will last for 78 weeks, which is about 1.5 years. It's a **randomized** (participants are randomly chosen) and **double-blind** (neither participants nor researchers know who gets the medicine) study, which makes it fair and unbiased. Some people will get a **placebo** (a pill that doesn't do anything) to compare with VK2735. To join the study, you need to be at least 18 years old, have a **BMI** (Body Mass Index) of 27 or more, and have Type 2 Diabetes with specific blood sugar levels.
