This study is for adults with type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart problems, but not heart failure. The study tests if a drug called vicadrostat, taken with empagliflozin, can help lower heart risks. Participants are split into two groups randomly: one takes the actual medicine, and the other takes a placebo (a fake pill that looks real but doesn't have any medicine). Everyone continues their regular medication.
The study lasts up to 4 years and 3 months. Participants take one tablet daily and visit the study site regularly for check-ups and blood tests. Doctors monitor for heart events and any side effects.
