Phase N/A

This study tests a program using voice technology to help older adults manage chronic health issues. Participants will use a smart speaker, like Amazon Echo, to manage daily tasks. These speakers can help with reminders, social interaction, and cognitive activities. Many older adults, especially those with low income, struggle to use these devices because they lack training or resources. The study focuses on older adults living independently with chronic conditions (long-lasting health issues) and mild cognitive impairment (trouble thinking or remembering). Researchers aim to find out which smart speaker functions these adults prefer and provide training to help them use this technology for better health management.

  • The study is for people aged 55 and older living in low-income housing with one or more chronic conditions.
  • Participants must engage with the smart speaker daily as part of the study.
  • Participants should not have severe visual/hearing impairments or Alzheimer's disease.
