*Bronchiectasis* is a lung condition that causes cough, thick mucus, and repeated lung infections. The AIRTIVITY™ Study is testing a new medicine called **BI 1291583** to see if it helps people with this condition. People in the study take a tablet once a day for up to 1 year and 6 months. Some get the real medicine, and some get a *placebo* (a pill that looks the same but has no medicine). The study lasts up to 1 year and 8 months.
During the study, participants visit the study site up to 10 times and have 13 phone calls with the study team. They also keep a diary on a smartphone about their symptoms. The study team checks their health and counts how many *flare-ups* they have. A flare-up is when symptoms get worse suddenly.
- The study lasts about 1 year and 8 months.
- Participants need to visit the study site up to 10 times and have 13 phone calls.
- Participants are monitored for any health changes during the study.
