Phase N/A

This study looks at how a blood test might help doctors decide if a head CT scan is needed for adults with mild head injuries. **Mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI)** is a type of head injury that's not very serious, like a small bump or hit. **Biomarkers** are special substances in the blood that can give doctors important information. In this study, doctors want to see if using these blood test results can help make decisions better, and maybe even reduce the need for CT scans.

People who join this study will be adults between 18-65 years old with a mild head injury. The study takes place in the emergency department at Grady Memorial Hospital. Some people, like kids, pregnant individuals, or those with serious health issues, cannot join. Participants will have a blood test when they arrive, and doctors may use these results to decide on imaging.

  • The study takes place at Grady Memorial Hospital.
  • Only adults aged 18-65 can participate.
  • The study assesses if blood test results can reduce the need for CT scans.

Why should I take part in a clinical trial?

Participating in a clinical trial provides early access to potentially effective treatments and directly contributes to the healthcare advancements that benefit us all.

How long does a clinical trial take place?

The duration of clinical trials varies. Some trials last weeks, some years, depending on the phase and intention of the trial.

Do I get compensated for taking part in clinical trials?

Compensation varies per trial. Some offer payment or reimbursement for time and travel, while others may not.

How safe are clinical trials?
