Keeping on Course is a program designed to help people with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and their partners improve communication skills. MCI is a condition where memory and thinking skills are a bit worse than normal for someone their age but not severe enough to be dementia. This program aims to help couples (called dyads) handle the emotional and practical challenges of MCI. It is a trial to see how well the program works.
Up to 48 people will participate in virtual group meetings over 6 weeks. They will also have interviews before and after the program to measure changes. To join, you need to have MCI or be a care partner, speak English, and have internet access for video calls. Couples must live together to participate in practice activities.
- Participation involves 6 weeks of virtual meetings.
- Structured interviews before and after the program.
- Each partner needs their own device for video calls.
