Renewed Recovery is a study focused on helping people who have completed standard outpatient treatment for alcohol use disorder (AUD). The study is testing a special online program called Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention (MBRP). This program aims to support people in staying healthy and avoiding relapse, which means not returning to drinking. MBRP combines mindfulness, a practice of being aware and present in the moment, with strategies to prevent relapse.

  • The study lasts for 8 weeks and includes 8 lessons, with each lesson available weekly online.
  • Participants will join two group sessions over Zoom to practice mindfulness together.
  • Feedback and surveys will be used to improve the program and measure how well it helps people.

To join, participants must be 18 or older, have recently finished outpatient treatment, and have internet access. They should also score 8 or higher on the AUDIT test or identify as having received treatment for alcohol use. Exclusions include experiencing psychosis or dementia, or not having completed recent outpatient treatment. This pilot study is an opportunity to be part of a new way to support recovery from alcohol use disorder.
