Phase 2

This study is testing a new drug called petrelintide to see if it helps people who are overweight or obese and have type 2 diabetes. We're comparing it to a placebo, which is a harmless pill with no real medicine, to make sure that any changes are due to petrelintide. To join, you must be male or female with a body mass index (BMI) of 27 or more, which means you are overweight, and you must have had type 2 diabetes for at least 180 days. You should already be taking a diabetes medicine called metformin, possibly along with another type called sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors, and both should be at the same dose for at least 90 days. You cannot join if you've had severe low blood sugar recently or have been trying to lose weight with other medicines or surgeries. The study will check if petrelintide is safe and works well.

  • Study involves multiple visits to the clinic.
  • Participants must stop other weight loss attempts during the study.
  • There may be risks like changes in blood sugar levels.
