Phase 2/3

Trigeminal neuralgia (TN) is a condition causing severe facial pain. This study tests an experimental drug called basimglurant to see if it helps reduce pain and is safe to use. Basimglurant works by blocking a receptor in the brain and nervous system that can reduce pain. The study involves keeping a pain diary and evaluating changes in pain levels over time.

  • The study is for adults aged 18-75 with primary TN.
  • You cannot join if you have certain health issues, like major psychiatric disorders or severe kidney problems.
  • Participants must stop their current TN medications.

Before joining, you need to understand all study procedures and sign a consent form. If you're female and can have children, you need a negative pregnancy test and must use birth control. The study carefully monitors health and excludes those with unstable medical conditions. If interested, discuss with your doctor to see if you qualify.
