Phase 3

This study is testing a drug called buntanetap (also known as Posiphen) to see if it helps people with early Alzheimer's disease, a condition that affects the brain and memory. In this study, people aged 55-85 will take either buntanetap or a placebo, which is a harmless pill that doesn't contain the drug, for 18 months.

The study will check if the drug helps improve thinking and daily activities. Participants will visit the clinic several times over those 18 months for checkups, tests, and to answer questions. The visits will happen at the start, and then at months 1, 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, and 18. There will also be phone calls before and after some visits.

  • The study lasts 18 months with several clinic visits required.
  • Participants will take a daily dose of either the study drug or placebo.
  • Safety and any side effects will be closely monitored.

This study will help researchers understand if buntanetap is safe and can help people with early Alzheimer's disease.
