This study tests two chemotherapy treatments for advanced cancer of the esophagus, gastroesophageal junction, or stomach. The treatments are called mFOLFIRINOX and mFOLFOX. They use drugs like fluorouracil, which stops cancer cells from making DNA; leucovorin calcium, which boosts fluorouracil’s effect; and oxaliplatin, which kills cancer cells. mFOLFIRINOX also includes irinotecan, which can kill cancer cells by blocking certain enzymes. Some patients also receive nivolumab, a drug that helps the immune system fight cancer. The goal is to see if adding irinotecan and nivolumab can improve patient survival.
- The study involves regular visits for treatments and scans like MRI and CT to check cancer progress.
- Participants may need to provide blood samples during the study.
- Eligibility includes being 18+, having certain blood counts, and not having certain health conditions.
