This study aims to see if listening to music with a strong beat, called beat-accented music stimulation (BMS), can help older adults exercise more and improve their memory. People in this study will either exercise with BMS or without it. Participants will join group exercise classes for strength training (ST) and aerobic exercise (AE) for three days a week for the first two months, then once a week for the next two months, and finally exercise on their own for the last two months. The goal is to keep active for at least 150 minutes of AE and 90 minutes of ST each week. This study is for people 65 and older who can walk without help and are not very active right now. Participants should not have serious health issues or be taking certain medications. They will need to attend exercise classes for the first four months of the study.
- Study duration is 6 months.
- Participants must attend exercise sessions regularly.
- BMS may help improve memory and physical activity.
