PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) is a medicine to help prevent HIV, a virus that harms the immune system. This study aims to improve how doctors prescribe PrEP by using special computer tools. These tools will be part of electronic health records, helping doctors find patients who might benefit from PrEP more easily and fairly. The study will take place in 16 community health centers, part of a network called OCHIN. These centers are places where people can go for primary care, which means general health check-ups and treatments.
- The study will test a tool that helps doctors decide who should get PrEP.
- Doctors in community health centers will be using the tool to help their patients.
- The study won't happen in places that only focus on HIV or STI care or in special sites like mobile clinics or schools.
