Phase 2

The Pediatric Lupus Nephritis Mycophenolate Mofetil (PLUMM) Study is a research project for kids and young adults aged 8 to under 21 who have **proliferative lupus nephritis (LN)**. Lupus nephritis is a condition where the immune system attacks the kidneys. This study will last for one year and involves two types of treatments with the medicine **Mycophenolate Mofetil (MMF)**. The two methods are MMFBSA, which is based on body size, and MMFPK, which is adjusted based on how the body handles the medicine. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of the two methods for 53 weeks. The goal is to see which method works better and is safer.

  • Participants will need to attend study visits at weeks 26 and 53.
  • The study involves taking medicine twice daily.
  • If the first treatment does not work, the method may change after 26 weeks.

It's important to talk with your doctor to see if joining this study is right for you. Participants must be able to follow the schedule and take the medicine as instructed. There are some risks and requirements to consider before joining. Make sure to ask any questions you have to the study team.
