Phase N/A

This study is testing a new way to help control pain after belly surgery for cancer. It uses **digital meditation**, which is a type of mindfulness practice, to help reduce pain and stress. Mindfulness is a way of paying attention to the present moment, which can sometimes help people feel less pain. This study sends short meditation exercises through text messages to check if it helps patients after surgery.

The main goals are to see if this meditation is safe, if people like it, and if it can be easily delivered through a mobile phone. Patients in the study will either get daily text message surveys about their pain or receive daily text message meditation exercises for 10 days after surgery. Two weeks later, they will also have a phone interview.

  • The study lasts for about 2 weeks.
  • Participants need a smartphone to receive text messages.
  • Only adults (18+) who had belly surgery for cancer and can read are included.
