A migraine is a bad headache that can make you feel sick and sensitive to light and noise. This study explores if a medicine called atogepant can help kids aged 6-17 with these headaches. Atogepant is a pill taken once a day and is already used by adults. The study will check if it’s safe and effective for kids.
Participants will be randomly divided into groups to receive either a placebo (a dummy pill), a low dose, or a high dose of atogepant for 12 weeks. After 12 weeks, they can either stop or continue for another 52 weeks in an extension study. Kids will have regular visits for check-ups and tests to see how they are doing. Both the medicine and the placebo are taken by mouth.
- The study lasts for 12 weeks, with an option to extend for 52 more weeks.
- Participants must attend regular clinic visits for check-ups and tests.
- Approximately 450 kids will participate in this study worldwide.
Participants must weigh between 44 lbs and 298 lbs and have 4 to 14 migraine days each month. If you have certain types of migraine or other headache conditions, you cannot join.
