This study aims to improve how young people with cancer risk syndromes communicate and make decisions about their health. Cancer risk syndromes, like Lynch Syndrome, happen when certain genetic changes increase the chance of getting cancer. The study will test a tool named AYA-RISE to help adolescents and young adults (ages 12-24) understand and manage these risks better. Participants will use an online portal and chatbot to get information.
- Participation: Involves using AYA-RISE, completing surveys, and interviews.
- Eligibility: Ages 12-24, diagnosed with a cancer risk syndrome, and English-speaking.
- Study Groups: Some participants will receive standard care, while others will use AYA-RISE.
Eligible participants include patients, their families, and healthcare providers who will provide feedback on the tool's effectiveness. The study is divided into three parts: testing the tool's format, a trial comparing standard care to the tool, and interviews to gather detailed feedback. This study hopes to offer better support and options for young people facing these health challenges.
