Phase N/A

Parathyroid glands help control the calcium level in our blood. Sometimes, these glands become overactive, causing too much calcium, which can harm the body. Doctors use a test called a Tc-99m Sestamibi (MIBI) scan to find the problematic gland, but it doesn't always work. This study explores using a new tool called F-18 PSMA to see if it can better locate the troublesome gland before surgery. Participants will undergo both the MIBI and F-18 PSMA scans on the same day. The F-18 PSMA scan involves an injection, a short wait, and a 10-minute scan. This study won't change your treatment, but aims to improve future care. This is a single-center study, and results could lead to a larger study if successful.

  • The study involves two scans in one day.
  • Participants must be over 18 and able to stay still during scans.
  • No direct benefit to participants, but it may help future patients.
