Boost strength with mental focus in this clinical trial study.

Recruiting
65-79 years
Female
Phase N/A

This study is for healthy women aged 65-79, to see if using **mental effort** (imagining muscles working hard) with **elastic band training** (using stretchy bands for exercise) can make muscles stronger and improve how nerves and muscles work together. Participants are split into three groups: one with elastic band training, one with elastic band training plus mental effort, and a control group with no training. The study takes 6 weeks, with 2-3 sessions per week, each lasting 45-60 minutes at home with virtual guidance. Participants will do exercises like chair squats and chest presses, starting with 12 repetitions and increasing to 4 sets over time. The research checks strength, nerve-muscle function, and body makeup before and after the study.

  • 6-week study, with 2-3 supervised sessions per week.
  • Participants must be female, aged 65-79, and not have exercised regularly in 3 years.
  • Must have internet and a device with a camera for virtual sessions.
