Erosive Esophagitis (EE) is a condition where the esophagus, the tube connecting your mouth and stomach, gets inflamed. This study tests a new medicine, BLI5100, to see if it helps heal and maintain healing of EE compared to a standard treatment called PPI (proton pump inhibitor), which reduces stomach acid. Participants will take BLI5100 once daily for up to 8 weeks to heal the esophagus, and then continue for 24 weeks to keep it healed.
Key Points:
- Participants must be 18 or older and have had both heartburn and regurgitation recently.
- Cannot participate if you have certain stomach or esophagus conditions, or if you use specific medications.
- Study involves taking study medicine for up to 32 weeks and a few visits to see the doctor.
If you meet the study requirements, this could be a chance to try a new treatment for EE. Remember, there are rules about birth control during the study, and you should talk to your doctor to see if joining is right for you.
