The Pediatric Anesthesia Quality Improvement Project aims to make anesthesia safer for children. Anesthesia is when medicine is used to make you sleep during surgery so you don't feel pain. This study is looking at bad events, called adverse events, that sometimes happen to kids during anesthesia. They will collect information about how often these events occur and why. This will help doctors learn how to stop them from happening in the future.
Who can join? All kids who are having anesthesia at hospitals that are part of this study. If you are older than 21, you can't join.
- This study will help improve safety for children having surgery.
- No extra visits are needed; information is collected during surgery.
- There is no direct benefit or compensation for participating, but your information will help others.
