Liver transplantation is a surgical procedure to replace a damaged liver with a healthy one from a donor. This study focuses on patients with cirrhosis (a condition where the liver is severely scarred) and acute-on-chronic liver failure (ACLF), which is a sudden worsening of chronic liver disease. Doctors are exploring how liver transplantation (LT) can help these patients. The study will compare the survival of patients who receive a liver transplant with those who don't. It will also look at the quality of life after the transplant and explore new ways to predict outcomes.
Participants must be 18 or older and have been diagnosed with liver cirrhosis. They will be divided into groups based on their condition and whether they are listed for a transplant. The study aims to improve how organs are allocated and to understand who benefits most from a transplant.
- Study compares different patient groups over 1 year.
- Participation may involve listing for a liver transplant.
- Potential risks and benefits will be evaluated.
