The study is testing BOTOX injections for changing the size of the masseter muscle in adults. This muscle is in the lower face and helps in chewing, but it can make the face look wider. Some people find this look unattractive. By using BOTOX, researchers want to see if it can safely and effectively make this muscle less noticeable.
In the study, participants are divided into two groups. One group will receive actual BOTOX injections, and the other will get a placebo (a fake injection that does nothing). There is a 1 in 4 chance of getting the placebo. If eligible, participants can get another BOTOX injection later.
- The study lasts for about 6 months with regular monthly visits required.
- 200 adults will be part of the study across 20 locations in the U.S.
- Participants will get injections in both sides of the face and will need to answer questions and have medical check-ups.
