Phase 2/3

This study looks at how well a medicine called vericiguat works for kids with heart failure, a condition where the heart doesn't pump blood well. We are comparing vericiguat to a placebo, which is like a pretend medicine. We want to see if vericiguat helps reduce levels of a heart failure marker called NT-proBNP after 16 weeks. If you join, you might also get a chance to try vericiguat in an open-label study, which means everyone knows they are getting the real medicine.

  • The study lasts 16 weeks, with an extension possible.
  • Participants must have heart failure and be on stable medicine.
  • There are strict health requirements to join, so check with your doctor.

To join, kids need to have heart problems with a low ejection fraction (how much blood the heart pumps out) and be stable on their heart medicine. Kids with certain health problems like severe kidney or liver disease, or other heart issues, cannot join. The study involves regular check-ups to monitor safety and effectiveness. Discuss with your doctor to see if it's right for you.

Why should I take part in a clinical trial?

Participating in a clinical trial provides early access to potentially effective treatments and directly contributes to the healthcare advancements that benefit us all.

How long does a clinical trial take place?

The duration of clinical trials varies. Some trials last weeks, some years, depending on the phase and intention of the trial.

Do I get compensated for taking part in clinical trials?

Compensation varies per trial. Some offer payment or reimbursement for time and travel, while others may not.

How safe are clinical trials?
